VPT gives you the flexibility to create accounts with popular OAuth providers. As part of the account creation process, you can choose to authenticate using these third-party providers. This allows you to access your VPT account using your credentials from the provider instead of creating separate credentials in VPT.

Currently, VPT supports authentication using Google accounts. Additional providers will be added in the future. This method of authentication is only supported in the SaaS version of VPT and is not available for on-premises deployments.

Creating a new account with an external provider

  1. From the Signup screen, click Sign up with Google.

You will be redirected to the Google authentication page.

  2. Enter your email or phone number, then enter your password to authenticate your Google account.

  3. Once you have authenticated, you will receive an Account Welcome email with information about your account, including your Account ID used for logging in.

Signing in using an external provider

  1. Navigate to the Sign-In page and enter your Account ID (given when your account was created).

  2. Click Sign in with Google.

  3. You will be redirected to the Google authentication page.

  4. Once you have authenticated through Google, you will be directed to the VPT home page for your account.
