Viewing Usages

The Resource Usage page allows you to understand how your VPT account is being used and easily allows you to attribute usages to Teams within VPT.

  1. To view usages, first navigate to the Account Management Portal. Click on the three-dot menu on the top navigation bar, and then click on Manage Account to navigate to the Account Management Portal.

  2. Click on Usage on the left navigation bar.

  3. You will see the recent usages for teams in your account.

Filtering Resources

To better track and manage usages, we provide you with multiple filters that can help you drill down the data to find usage patterns which can help you use your VPT account more efficiently.

Resource type

The resource type field allows you control which usages are displayed on the chart. All usage numbers refer to the selected resource type. Only one resource type can be displayed on the chart at one time.

Currently, only Number of Tests and Load Hours can be displayed.

Group by

The group by field allows you to narrow down the usage data to specific teams in your VPT account. By default, the chart displays the usage information from the six teams consuming the most resources for the selected resource type and date range. If there are more than six teams with usages, then only the five teams consuming the most resources are shown, and all other teams’ usages will be added together and displayed as Other Teams on the chart.

If you wish to view the usage for specific teams, regardless of the usage amounts, then you can select only the desired team or teams.

You can also view the total usages across your account by selecting the Account Level checkbox. This will display single bars for each date in the selected range which will account for all teams’ usages.

Time Period

The time period field allows you to aggregate the data over different periods. You can view the usages by hour, day, week, and month. This gives you the ability to see the data at different levels of granularity.

Choose a date

The choose a date field allows you to select a date range for usages you want to display. You will see a bar for each time period there are usages for between the from and to dates.

Exporting Usage Data

If you need to reconcile VPT usage data with any external systems, you can export the data in multiple formats to make it easy to share and compare. The usage graphs can also be exported into image formats to make reporting usages simple. All you need to do is select the resources you want to export and apply any filters, then you can export the resulting dataset. The export function will only export the data currently visible on the chart.

Image formats

The image formats are helpful if you need to have a quick chart for a report or visualization. The supported formats are PNG, JPEG, PDF, and SVG.

Data formats

The data can be exported to spreadsheets so you can create custom visualizations or map the data to a different format or external system. The supported formats are CSV and XLS.
