About Custom Charts

Custom charts allow you to gather and chart more granular metrics about specific requests sent during your tests. By default, VPT provides an extensive list of metrics for you to choose from, but you are also able to select from any APM metric profiles used for the test as well.

Using Custom Charts

On the Report page of a completed test, you will see two tabs: Summary and Custom Chart. Select Custom Chart to get started.

On the left are the list of metrics you can display, broken down by the type of request.

To help find the metrics and requests you wish to track, you can filter down to just the relevant entries by using the Filter Transactions box.

You can select as many requests from as many metrics as you wish, and once selected their values will populate the chart to the right. However, all selected metrics share the same y-axis, so it is recommended that those selected share the same units.

You can also change the title displayed above the chart to better describe what the chart depicts by clicking the Edit Chart Title button and entering your preferred title in the pop-up.

Once you have selected the metrics your interested in, you can use the menu in the top-right corner of the chart to export the chart and its data in various formats.
